Brief Overview: In today’s competitive business landscape, having skilled Account Managers is imperative for maintaining strong client relationships and driving business growth. In How to Recruit & Retain Top-Tier Account Managers (Part 2), we will further x-ray the remaining key strategies on how to hire and retain high-quality Account Managers.

Here are the five concluding strategies that could help:

1. Activate Onboarding and Training Programs: On recruiting a skilled Account Manager, it is important to immediately activate a robust onboarding process and training program to steer the talent towards success from day one.  During the on-boarding process, it’s essential to educate candidate on your business values, products or services, realities of the position, internal processes, and client portfolio. Where possible, assign a mentor or buddy to guide candidate during the induction stages and ensure they have the essential tools and resources to perform their job effectively from onset.

2. Provide Ongoing Support and Development It’s vital to offer ongoing support and development opportunities for both new and existing team members. Encourage continuous learning through workshops, seminars, and industry conferences. Offer regular feedback and coaching to help talents sharpen their skills and overcome challenges.

3. Promote a Healthy Work Environment: Entrenching a positive work environment nurtures collaboration, open interaction, and teamwork. It goes hand-in-hand with establishing healthy work-life balance and recognising the achievements of your Account Managers. All these helps in sustaining a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusivity, and innovation which enhances employee satisfaction and reduces churn.

4. Offer Competitive Remuneration and Benefits: Having competitive remunerations and benefits packages for Account Manager positions plays a significant role in the attraction and retention of top-performing candidates.  It is important to evaluate your industry standards to ensure your salary and benefits align with current market rates. Additionally, consider performance-based incentives, such as bonuses or commissions, to reward exceptional achievements.

5. Create Pathways for Growth and Advancement: To retain high-performing Account Managers, it is extremely important to recognize that they will seek pathways for growth and career advancement within your business. Keeping that in mind, it makes sense to create predictable career pathways and development plans that outline the trajectory for progression within your business. Offer opportunities for them to take on leadership roles, manage larger accounts, or specialise in a specific industry. This will not only enhance retention but also attract high-performing professionals.

In respect of the above, if you are wondering how and where to find these top-tier Account Managers? Search no more, FieldWork Recruiting can help you attract and recruit high in-demand Account Manager(s) within your industry.
